Greetings from Latvia.
My first project car was and still is vauxhall chevette :) The 1. project is going about 4. years, it's almost 100% original. It has 1.2 engine :D

Talking about manta a year by VIN it's from 72. august, till 73.august
Plans with manta is original 'black magic' paint job, 2.2 engine for start, after are plans to instal 2.0 DOCH and maybe put turbine ( make a turbo replica)

It's been a while,sins my last post. there are some new's. Manta is sold :(
looking for a new project car :) maybe it gonna be bmw 2002. But realy I looking for Dodge Charger 68-70 year.
About the chevette, weels are sold, but new are coming ( they are the same, but on R14). The engine now are been restored.

all bolts broke and wheel bowed the wing . I think the bolts was to hard drawed and bolts stretched out, so this is the result

Hi, Chevette is Kadett C, just chevette is 4 UK. I infere than my chevette is export version. There are registred 5(In Latvia), but on the road I haven't seen, and I don't think so that chevette is rear, but Kadett's are passim than Chevette. About dash, than it's 100% original.

Intake from monza 3.0 modify to fit on 2.2 head. This intake mode give you opportunity to not cut bonnet and has a biger intake throttle than 2.0

Today I got a chisel crankshaft, a lighter flywheel as well as all of this together with the basket was balanced.

Vauxhall Chevette was made for US and front of that car is not from Manta,its original fabric look same as Vauxhall Cavallier(Ascona b) :bye:

Vauxhall Chevette was made for US and front of that car is not from Manta,its original fabric look same as Vauxhall Cavallier(Ascona b) :bye:

Not 4 US but 4 UK market. 4 US is chevrolet chevette . And about the front, its not look like ascona B :)

update
this are Chevy 305 small block V8 forged pistons which will go into 2.2 block. These pistons with 1:1 block size does not fit, will be slightly increased cilinder capacity.
In the near future is plan to send the same 305 block of large valves (intake 49.xx)

It's quite rare car.  Dodge Charger 1968, numbers matching 383 engine, 4-speed, non R/T

Wow, great Charger! Please post more about your cars, and about that 2.2 engine conversion with chevy pistons. I'm sure that here'll be interest about it, since we have many members driving opel cars.

About modification on a Charger: full bodywork- paint: Black( as i should be :D ), full interior( original red - i think I will go with black), maybe new K-frame, new brake system( front/back), new type steering column, maybe new type suspension(front/back).
About engine I would like to get out around 450-500hp without supercharger.
Wheels&Tires: 2 options: 1)go with R15, front 225/35/40/45 with rims J8 ET0, back minimum 285/35/40/45 J10 ET0,
                                     2) R18 with same rim&wheel digits.

Should I make new topic or write in this one, what do you think guy's ?

About Chevette: there been some things that I bought but thy are still lying in the garage :D
stabilisation bar form GT/E, 2.5 6cl engine: old CIH got originally forged rods.

I can't see the images in your last post...

And images in older posts are, as most of images hosted on Imageshack, gone. Are you considering re-uploading them somewhere else? (i.e. Postimage.org is great)

As for Charger...great find! Is it an US import, or yet another rare find in Latvia?

I'd really keep the plum color if it was mine, great psychodelic color, and they're all black anyway... :)

Yes, there were some rust, trunk floor, rear wheel arches, frame rails, inner and outer rockers, lower taillight panel.
